The Joint Building and Construction Council is registered as a Company founded by The Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) and the Kenya Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (KABCEC) in 1980.

The Architectural Association of Kenya:

Established in 1967, the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) is Kenya’s leading professional society incorporating Architects, Quantity Surveyors, Town Planners, Engineers, Landscape Architects, Environmental Design Consultants and Construction Project Managers. As the umbrella Association, AAK brings together professionals in central government, local authorities, private sector and the academia. The Association also acts as the link between professionals and stakeholders in the building industry-including policy makers, manufacturers, real estate developers, financial institutions etc.

The Association is structured into seven chapters representing each of the professions highlighted above.

Kenya Association of Building and Civil Engineering Contractors (KABCEC)

One of our key objectives is to protect the interests of our members in the course of their businesses. It is in the view of this objective that KABCEC participates actively in the formulation, revision and amendment of conditions of Contract for Building works.
